Retcast

The rants and ramblings of the Comic Book Movies Family.

Episode 28: Under the Hood

Posted by retcast on March 12th, 2009

That time has come. The world has been waiting twenty-five years for an event like this, and it is finally upon us. Watchmen, arguably the greatest graphic novel of all time, and one of the best selling novels ever, has finally become a movie. To live up to our subtitle, Retcast devotes an entire episode to quite possibly the biggest comic book movie event we will live to experience.

Friends of the show Ryan and Brian join Billy and Brandon in the discussion, with a little fanboy nitpicking, but they manage to outline some of their favourite moments in both the book and the movie. By the way, there are spoilers. If you have not seen the movie, or read the book, you have no business listening to this episode.

Please feel free to email us if you have any comments on what was said, or you have any questions or suggestions for the show in general. You can also donate, if you are feeling generous; it’s not cheap to bring this much awesome to your ears on a weekly basis.

Thanks for listening!

One Response to “Episode 28: Under the Hood”

  1. Eagle-Man Says:

It may not be Deadpool in Wolverine, but it IS Wade Wilson. I think it’s something like Wade is part of the same Black Ops team as Wolverine et al, and then the Weapon project turns him into Weapon XI by injecting him with the DNA of other mutants, giving him their powers.

PLEASE, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE! It will not be good. Do not give Fox your money!

Re: German accent - I think that it’s because his name is Adrien Veidt (pronounced like “white,” but with a ‘v’), which is a very German name. It’s quite possible that the character was supposed to be of German descent in the book.
