The rants and ramblings of the Comic Book Movies Family.

Episode 4: Fun With Timezones!

Posted by retcast on July 11th, 2008

Due to our guest, Syrix, being from another continent, literally on the other side of the world, we had to make some adjustments to the regular recording schedule. So this episode was recorded at around 3:30am, meaning that our hosts were mere shadows of their usual selves. If by “shadow” you mean incredibly tired and irritable.

While this episode may be lacking in energy, it’s certainly not lacking in heart. Wow, that’s really fucking gay… But we do hope you enjoy our ramblings. Anyway, here’s that story Dave mentions during the show. Have a read.

  1. Eagle-Man Says:

    1) Imaginary Numbers are cool. Math ROCKS!

    2) Hulk could totally blow out the helicopter. The force/shock wave from his strong clap is enough to blow the oxygen away from the fire, thus smothering it. He has also used this technique several times to suffocate opponents and render them unconscious.

    3) Amadeus Cho is an Action Man rip-off. Cool, but still a rip-off.

    4) Bucky O’Hare! W00T!

    5) Batman is totally a superhero because he’s at the peek of physical human condition, is a master of every form of hand-to-hand combat, is a strategic genius, incredibly smart, a world-class detective, and he has toys.

Police, Fire Fighters, Soldiers; they’re all heroes, but I don’t know any that can do what Batman does.

Also, Superheroes fall into different catagories:

Mutant/Metahuman/… Superhuman (usually, unnaturally genetically altered) Magic-Based Tech-Based Alien/Other-Dimensionally Skill Mastery (Green Arrow, Batman, Shang-Chi) Divine/Religious (Gods, etc) Science-Based

Batman would fall under Mastery and Tech. Zatanna is magic-based. FF and Spider-Man are Superhuman; Wolverine’s a mutant; Superman is an alien; Vixen and Wonder Woman would fall under D/R. Giant Man and Wasp would be science based.

    6) I, too, thought that RetCast was a take on RetCon.

  2. Jonix Says:

Yet again, Jonix controls the show.

  3. Le Creuset Says:

there’s nothing funnier than listening to an aussie, an american, and a canadian argue.

the combination of all three accents is hilarious.
